Low temperature separation is a vital component to the production process, however traditional technologies including the throttle process are high in energy and highly inefficient. Megastone Technologies Ltd Vortex Units provide a great degree of temperature reduction using significantly fewer resources. The capital costs are also reduced due to a simpler system.
How Vortex Units works
The inlet gas enters the vortex unit at point 1, at which point is it pulled into a heat exchanger. The role of the heat exchanger is to induce a reduction of temperature due to a cooler airflow delivered by vortex tube 3. At this point vapour within the gas is condensed, leaving a condensate substance that is removed in the separator. This gas is then expanded using subsequent cool and hot airflow, with the final mixed flow redirected downstream to further parts of the operation.
